The Design & Fragrance
The most highly priced perfumes of the ancient world came from Egypt, which along with geranium, jasmine and rose buds, are the heart of the fragrance. The circumpunct dot, central to this design, represents gold. It is also an ancient Egyptian hieroglyph for the sun. As much of their art was religious, the ancient Egyptians used colours symbolically to convey messages. The dark blue colour of lapis lazuli, a semi-precious stone, represents joy and gold represents the deity of the sun.
